Udupi Madras Cafe

We have been there for Canada Day lunch buffet. They had a werid menu. Sambar and no idlies or plain rice. Masala curries with no puris. They had fried rice and curd rice and so many different curries. Supposed to have the curries with dosas. Ashok

Atlast, ive got what i wanted.
Basically, im from south india and here on work permit for six months and designing software for loblaws. I was literally shocked when i had the weekday buffet, it was so amazing as if i am having food made my mom in mangalore.
how can somebody prepare the same food as in karnataka. amazing....

Food quantity is too low

For someone looking for good south indian styled vegeterian, this one certainly is an excellent retaurant. Owner and Staff friendly, service quite courteus and accomodating, ambience - good - lots of windows and light washrooms are kept clean temperature - good certain window spots one may feel a bit cold in summer getting slightly a draft from the air vents, winters temperatures are well maintained, good pictorial display, food - very good, menu choices are decent spice levels can be requested to be reduced, quality of food well maintained and quantity is definitely reasonable. Overall definitely rating this restaurant an excellent grade

This guys with manager that does not have manner to talk with customer that i have special need son and I always book and i used to got it about and if you visit udupi cafe please i advise you that do no visit it and the reason is that they donot have any good service form the employee. and other is that owner does not care about that.

Most of the waiters enjoy talking to each other rather than taking care of the customer. I heard that tips goes to the owner rather than the waiters from a recently fired employee. Even though the sambar is messed up once in a while the food is generally okay. If you want to take your special someone i highly recommend you not to visit here. The other restaurant close by named

the place is okay. food is 6 out of 10. some waiters okay and some are bad like said in last persons review. the restaurant is in peaceful neighborhood and i like the environment a lot. But the place is too cold in winter and hot in summer, is the owner trying to save money on electricity bills or what? its okay being an indian but its pathetic to prove that cheapness in business. why do i still visit here? because being an Indian i crave for Indian food and i don't seem to find any other restaurants close to me that can show me some Indian spices. Saravanabavan is also a good restaurant but i find their waiters very unpleasant. annoying and into your face sometimes. anyway hope a new restaurant will be open somewhere soon that fulfills my expectations. don't want the best but at least i prefer to be moderest.

It is very good place to eat dosa,very good service,low prices,worth it.

Those raving about this restaurant are probably family or friends of the owner/staff or are the owner/staff themselves. This restaurant is 3 out of 10 stars. Sambar has nothing in it idly is fair aloo masala is watery good was the vadas restaurant is not that clean the staff is attentive. Another place to try is Saravana Bhavan SE corner of Hurontario and Eglinton in Mississauga.

Real authentic South Indian food the best in North America.They need to expand, so that the weekend restaurant ambience, could suit the food that is served.
